Redemption from the Penalty of Sin

When it comes to a Believer’s works of sin, Jesus paid it all! God’s only requirement to receive this redemption and pardon for your sin is that you fully trust, rely and depend on Jesus’ death on The Cross to be the solution to your sin problem. God will not accept partial trust, partial reliance, partial dependence. Your Faith cannot be in The Cross of Christ AND your own trying to “be good” to receive redemption. In order to be born-again you had to reject this type of thinking. And you have to “die” to that way of thinking after initial conversion. “For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God” (Col. 3:3). You have died to being your own redeemer. You no longer are to produce “dead works” (Heb. 9:14). “Dead works” are any work or effort we perform to receive any aspect or benefit of our redemption. In the Old Covenant, Jesus Christ was symbolically shown as the Passover lamb. The lamb had to be offered in sacrifice and it’s blood had to be put on the doorway of every Israelite living in Egypt. “And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you” (Ex. 12:13). This symbolism was a foreshadowing that God would offer His firstborn Son to be The Sacrifice for sin, so that our “sons” would not have to suffer the penalty of their sins. God’s judgement against sin could pass over us if the blood was applied. It also tells us God doesn’t look at our moral condition to decide if He can pass over us. He only looks to see if the blood of His prescribed sacrifice has been applied. Today, we apply “the blood” to our hearts by Faith. He requires that you apply the blood of The Lamb to your “house” in order for judgement to pass over you (Ex. 12:13). Your Faith cannot be in the blood of The Lamb AND anything else. If you travel outside or beyond where the blood has been applied, His judgement will have to come upon you for your sins (Ex. 12:22-24). God requires us to stay in this Faith and never leave it, try to add to it or take away from it. Just simply rely on the blood of The Lamb and rest in that. If we will do this, HE will impute (accredit) to us Christ’s righteousness (Rom. 4:6). God the Father will recognize and credit to our account Christ’s righteousness as our righteousness! Our sin was transferred to Him at The Cross where He bore the sin penalty for us. His righteousness was rendered or credited to us the moment we first Believed. This is the description of justification by Faith alone. God no longer looks at us or deals with us according to our unrighteous condition, but instead views us and deals with us according to the righteous sacrifice His Son made on our behalf. “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by Faith without the deeds of the Law” (Rom. 3:28). Jesus Christ “purged our sins” and “sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high (Heb. 1:3). He is sitting because there is nothing more He needs to do to provide redemption to humanity. We didn’t purge ourself from our sins, He purged us of our sins. Redemption and all of it’s benefits are fully available and readily accessible to anyone who will Believe! Our redemption is all from God and of God. All mankind can do is Believe and receive it’s benefits! But there is more……………………
